MERCHANT CENTER FIX GUIDES

Fix “Mismatched value (page crawl) [availability]” in Google Merchant Center

Typical Merchant Center message: Mismatched value (page crawl) [availability]

Reviewed October 12, 2026 against Google’s published rules.

Google checks that the availability in your feed — in stock, out of stock, preorder or backorder — matches what your product page shows. A mismatch can get the product disapproved.

Common causes on Shopify

  1. A variant sold out, but the feed still says in_stock until its next refresh.
  2. “Continue selling when out of stock” keeps the page buyable while the feed reports out_of_stock, or the other way round.
  3. The feed item’s link opens a different variant whose stock status differs.
  4. The page’s structured data reports a different availability than the visible add-to-cart state.
  5. A preorder item is sent without an availability_date.

How to fix it

  1. Compare the availability Google found with the exact variant link from your feed.
  2. Decide one rule for oversold or continue-selling variants and apply it to both the store and the feed.
  3. Refresh the feed more often when stock moves quickly, and remove discontinued items from it.
  4. For preorder or backorder, send availability_date in ISO 8601 format.
