Fix “Inaccurate shipping costs” in Google Merchant Center
Typical Merchant Center message: Inaccurate shipping costs
Reviewed October 14, 2026 against Google’s published rules.
Google reports inaccurate shipping costs when the shipping rates in your Merchant Center settings or product data are lower than the rates your website shows at checkout. Google notes that lower rates can increase checkout abandonment, and that the shipping attribute, if you provide it, overrides the account-level rate.
How to fix it
- Read the examples in Google’s warning email, then review the Shipping services tab and any shipping attribute rates.
- Update the rates to match what your website charges at checkout. If exact rates are not possible, Google suggests slightly overestimating them.
- Send the product data again: upload a file, use the Content API, or import from another source.
- Request a review after the fix, or appeal if you disagree. Google says crawls usually finish within 24 to 48 hours.
- If you list products through a third-party platform, you may be able to request the review in that platform’s app.
