Fix “Missing shipping costs” in Google Merchant Center
Typical Merchant Center message: Missing shipping costs
Reviewed October 14, 2026 against Google’s published rules.
Google reports missing shipping costs when some products have no shipping cost. Google says they will not show to customers until you add one. Shipping can be set in your account’s shipping settings, or per product with the shipping attribute.
Set shipping for the account
- In Merchant Center, go to Products & store, then Shipping and returns.
- On the Shipping policies tab, choose Add shipping policy. If asked, choose Shipping for online products.
- Choose the country or countries, then set the products, the delivery times and the shipping costs, and save.
- Google recommends setting up account shipping settings first, then overriding specific products with the shipping attribute.
Set shipping for single products
- Open Products, then Needs attention, and filter for this issue.
- Download the .csv list, compare it with your product data and add a valid shipping setting with the shipping attribute.
- Check the shipping weight and the length, width and height data, which may need updating as well.
- Re-upload the corrected product data. Google says changes to account shipping settings and product updates can take 24–72 hours to apply.
