Fix “Invalid sale price” in Google Merchant Center
Typical Merchant Center message: Invalid sale price
Reviewed October 14, 2026 against Google’s published rules.
Google reports an invalid sale price when the sale price [sale_price] is set to 0 or a negative number. A sale price must be higher than 0.
What Google says
As with the regular price, the only exception Google names is for mobile devices sold as part of a contract. Google also asks that the sale price and its currency format match the landing page.
How to fix it
- Open Products, then Needs attention, and filter for this issue.
- Enter a sale price greater than 0 for each affected product, or remove the sale price if the sale has ended.
- Keep the regular price in price and the discounted price in sale_price. Both should match what shoppers see on the product page.
- To fix many products at once, download the .csv list of affected products from the Needs attention tab, correct your product data and re-upload it.
- Google says it can take 24–72 hours for a fix to leave the Needs attention list.
