MERCHANT CENTER FIX GUIDES

Fix “Missing contact information on your online store” in Merchant Center

Typical Merchant Center message: Missing contact information on your online store

Reviewed October 14, 2026 against Google’s published rules.

Google reports this when an account is suspended or products are disapproved for “Misrepresentation” or “Website Needs Improvement”. Shoppers need to be able to find and trust your contact details.

Common causes in Google’s article

  1. Your business name, address or phone number in Merchant Center does not match your website, for example the footer or contact page.
  2. There is no verified phone number, physical address or email on the site or in the account.
  3. Identity verification with government-issued IDs or business documents is incomplete.
  4. Shipping and return or refund policies are missing or unclear.
  5. There are technical problems: placeholder content, broken links or no secure checkout.

How to fix it

  1. Audit your website for consistent business details, clear policies, technical health and contact methods that are easy to see before checkout.
  2. In Merchant Center, open Settings, then Business info. On the Details tab, find the Business details card and choose Edit business details to submit the information for verification.
  3. Verify your phone number.
  4. After identity verification is approved, Google reviews the website and account. Google says a small ad edit or choosing Appeal starts a fresh crawl, which usually finishes within 24 to 48 hours.

Check your own catalog for these issues
