Fix “product page cannot be accessed” in Google Merchant Center
Typical Merchant Center message: Product page cannot be accessed · Landing page not working
Reviewed October 12, 2026 against Google’s published rules.
Google visits the link of every product. If the page shows an error, requires a password or blocks the crawler, the product is disapproved until the page opens normally.
Common causes
- The product was deleted, unpublished or its link changed, so the page returns an error.
- A store password page is still enabled, so visitors and crawlers see a login screen.
- Bot protection, a firewall or country blocking stops Google’s crawler, which mostly visits from the US.
- robots.txt or a noindex setting blocks the page.
- The feed sends a link to a page that redirects through several pages or to the homepage.
How to fix it
- Open the product link from your feed in a private browser window; it should show the product without a login or redirect chain.
- Remove the storefront password once the store is open for business.
- Allow Google’s crawler in your firewall and bot settings.
- Update or remove feed items whose products are gone, and refresh the feed after changes.
