MERCHANT CENTER FIX GUIDES

Fix “Mismatched domains” in Google Merchant Center

Typical Merchant Center message: Mismatched domains

Reviewed October 14, 2026 against Google’s published rules.

Google reports mismatched domains when the landing page URL in your product data uses a domain that does not match the website registered in your Merchant Center account.

Common causes

  1. No website URL is registered in the account yet. You need to verify and claim your website first.
  2. The registered URL differs from the links in your data source. To submit http://www.example.com/item1.html, you register http://www.example.com/.

How to fix it

  1. Check the website URL under your business information in Merchant Center, and claim it if it is not claimed.
  2. Open Products, then Needs attention, and filter for this issue.
  3. Change each product link so it uses your registered domain.
  4. Image links may point to another domain. Google says images hosted off your registered domain can still be used with the image link attribute.
  5. To fix many products at once, download the .csv list of affected products from the Needs attention tab, correct your product data and re-upload it.
  6. Google says it can take 24–72 hours for a fix to leave the Needs attention list.

Check your own catalog for these issues

FeedGuard checks that each product link is a valid web address and opens your product pages in its live check. Claiming the website happens in your Merchant Center settings.
