Fix “Missing product title” in Google Merchant Center
Typical Merchant Center message: Missing product title
Reviewed October 14, 2026 against Google’s published rules.
Google reports a missing product title when one or more products have no title in your product data. Every product needs one.
Common causes
- The title is blank for some rows in your file or data source.
- Variant rows in a Shopify export leave the title empty because it is stored once on the first row of the product. A tool that reads rows one by one then sees variants without a title.
How to fix it
- Open Products, then Needs attention, and filter for this issue.
- Add a relevant title for each affected product, with Edit product or in your own product data.
- Use different titles for product variants, for example by adding the color or size.
- Make sure your data source contains titles for all individual products, then re-upload it.
- Google says it can take 24–72 hours for a fix to leave the Needs attention list.
